This year the Lunar Chinese New Year occurs one day before the Chinese Solar New Year on 4 February. The former marks the start of the Metal Rabbit Year under the Four Pillars System of astrology; the latter marks the start of a 7 Lake Year under the more ancient I Ching Astrology method.

In this article I will deal with your prospects under the Four Pillar system, and on 3 February I will publish your forecasts for the 7 Lake Year. If you want to know more about I Ching Astrology meanwhile, visit http://www.iching-astrology.com.

Overview

In Chinese Astrology, the elements and the years move in cycles of 12. There are five elements? Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood? and 12 animals, namely the Rabbit, the Dragon, the Snake, the Horse, the Goat, the Monkey, the Rooster, the Dog, the Pig, the Rat, the Ox, and the Tiger.

Therefore, it is once in 60 years that a similar combination of element and animal will appear. On 3 February 2011, it is the turn of the Metal Rabbit to come into view. The last time it was here was in 1951.

Famous Metal Rabbits

These people were born in 1951: Jane Seymour, Gordon Brown, Patricia Richardson, Kurt Russell, Bob Geldof, Sherry Aldridge.

1951 also saw the Korean War at its peak. The element Metal is from the West and the Rabbit represents the Wood element from the East. Sadly, there is quite a possibility of further inflammation on that front. If it is not from Korea, then expect some kind of aggravation or conflict, either real or financial, between the East and the West this year.

On a brighter note, what is in store for your Star and for your Animal in 2011? The animals will interact differently when the Rabbit comes into view. The Rabbit in some translations is known as the Cat. Generally, the Rabbit is seen as sensitive, gentle, diplomatic, intuitive and desires creature comforts. By nature, the Rabbit does not enjoy, or like to take on, conflict.

The Ox/Buffalo

In 2011, Rabbits are very acquisitive and have a huge appetite for money and fashionable items. Luckily, you re hardworking Ox nature is not going to make hasty deals overnight. Be patient this year and this will help you enormously. It is important for you not to overreact emotionally this year, or to overspend.
